Hello and welcome, I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m a queer and transgender clinical psychologist who offers telehealth therapy across the state of California. I’m committed to supporting folks on on their journeys towards healing, authenticity, and agency. My ultimate goal is to support you in living authentically through addressing both the internal and external systems of oppression that keep us stuck.
You are not broken, but the systems we are forced to navigate often are.
From the time I took my first psychology class, I was hooked. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience and went on to eventually earn a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from Wright State University. During graduate school, I trained in a wide array of settings with an emphasis on both therapy and assessment. My experiences taught me that so much of what we consider to be mental health difficulties are ultimately caused by systems of oppression. I approach therapy from this perspective, as well as from the perspective that pain in life is unavoidable. I believe that true power comes from learning how to respond to pain and oppression in a manner that is value driven. My goal is to help you realize that power.
Concerning specialties, I love working with concerns related to queer, transgender, and neurodiverse identities (e.g., coming out, social/medical transitions, exploring gender/sexuality, workplace issues, family difficulties, executive functioning, etc.). I also have specialized training providing therapy for depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma.
During our first session, I work with you to understand your background, the context in which you live, and the reasons you are pursuing therapy. From the second session on, my goal is to help you meet your therapy goals and to empower you to live as your most authentic self. I check in frequently during the therapy process to ensure you are getting what you need out of therapy.
Starting therapy is a big decision, and choosing the right therapist can be a daunting task. If you are curious about my approach to therapy or want to see if we might be a good fit, I offer free 15-minute consultations. I hope to hear from you soon!
